Bansilal Patel Built a Cowshed Near Kavitha and Sat Cross...
Read MoreLate Bansibhai was the brainchild of Gandhiji and Vinobaji and was a true Sarvodaya leader. A life of simple living and dedication to a higher purpose was his life mantra. Vinobaji sacrificed his life to stop the slaughter of cows, similarly Bansibhai gave up all worldly pleasures and dedicated his entire life to the service of cows. He established Sant Vinoba Gaushala and remained in the service of cows throughout his life. He was concerned about cows, so considering his age, he prepared the family of Pujya Vajudada so that the cows would not become a burden after his departure. Today, his representative Shri Lalbhai Alagotar takes care of the Gaushala with a spirit of service.
Late Bansibhai’s service spread throughout Gujarat. His circle of friends was also wide. He never had to worry about the maintenance of the cow shelter. The flow of donations continued from known and unknown people and it is even running today.
He had an innate compassion for the poor, he took a deep interest in their problems and found solutions to provide them a better life. His very presence was a source of comfort. The spirit of service would naturally be sparked in anyone who got to know Bansibhai because of his remarkable selflessness.
Walking on the path of Late Bansibhai, our mission is to provide a safe, sustainable, and nurturing environment for cows. A place where they are not treated like animals, but with respect and compassion. Our team is dedicated to rescuing and protecting cows while promoting awareness about the culture and ecological significance. We focus on integrating traditional values along with modern practices and ensure the well-being of these sacred animals.
We work with the vision in creating a world where the cows are protected just like our child and live a life with love. Through our Guashala, we design a sustainable ecosystem that benefits not only cows but also the environment and society. We also focus on running programmes that spread awareness related to drug abuse. With ethical practices and love, we are building a cruelty-free world for cows.
The ashram also hosts addiction and health-related events in addition to cow service. The late Bansibhai worked tirelessly to raise awareness in society about how addiction destroys a generation as a whole in addition to the life of an individual. In the ashram, he prioritized religious equality for everybody.
He spent the last 38 years of his 98-year-old life in the service of cows. With the exception of cow’s milk, he has not consumed any food grains for the past five-six years. Apart from this, he was on peanuts, milk, and juice, yet his energy was so strong that it was striking. He would get up from his bed and perform all the major and minor tasks by himself. There was no sign of age in his voice and he remained mentally ‘tough’ till the end. It appears that Bansibhai would not have been in heaven if there had been no arrangement for cow service. I pray that God may grant his holy soul eternal peace.
